PTIA - Sponsor of Impact mobility rEVolution’18

Impact mobility rEVolution’18 (IMR’18) is an international congress focused on the subject of intelligent mobility in Poland. National and local government representatives, academics, the automotive industry, municipal transportation companies as well as startups, innovators and companies looking to fund innovative ideas will all meet September 12th-13th in Katowice. They will share experiences, enter into cooperation and work together to build the future of intelligent mobility in our country.

AN AUTOMOTIVE REVOLUTION

The intelligent mobility revolution is predominantly a revolution of the automotive industry. The companies which have already joined it and those that will do so at Impact mobility rEVolution’18 in Katowice have a huge chance to not only survive but also experience dynamic growth.  A discussion on the future of the automotive industry in Poland including, among others, talks regarding legislation with politicians, business models with experts from around the world and cooperation between businesses and the academic community – none of this can happen without a large number of PTIA companies being present.

INTELIGENT MOBILITY IN THE SERVICE OF MR. AND MRS. SMITH

John Smith, who lives in the Giszowiec district of Katowice, is taking his wife and kids on vacation to Spain. Taking his own car to the airport, which is located over thirty kilometers away, in the middle of afternoon rush-hour traffic would be risky. That’s why John reaches for his smartphone and, using a special app, orders a taxi – one that, thanks to a lane reserved specifically for those type of vehicles, gets him to Katowice Airport located in Pyrzowice in fifteen minutes. From there the Smith family gets on an autonomous bus, which takes them directly to the terminal where their plane is waiting to depart.  At the same time a convoy of three autonomous trucks is transporting groceries to a store in Gdansk and the construction of special route, thanks to which ambulances can enter the hospital and take patients right to the door of the operating room, is being completed at the municipal hospital in Przbemyśl. The latter is made possible by the fact that the rescue vehicles used by the hospital are hydrogen-powered – making them silent and emission-free.

This is a vision of the future, but one that’s not as distant as it appears at first glance. The participants of Impact mobility rEVolution’18 want to shape the future of intelligent mobility so that, soon, integrated intelligent mobility systems responsible for transportation and travel -  regardless of a particular journey’s distance – will make getting around faster, safer and unharmful to the environment.  The tech-based race that is driving the intelligent mobility revolution has been going on for years – in the R&D labs of innovative automotive companies and at universities around the world. The fruits of this labor will soon be ripe and ready for picking – with the residents of Polish cities and boroughs also among those who will be able to take advantage of them.
