The tyre industry in Poland is more than just a sales market. Factories of the largest tyre manufacturers operate in our country and these are some of the best facilities of their kind in Europe. The industry is a very strong branch of Polish industry as a whole and it continues to grow.
Figures are a great way to show the development of the Polish tyre industry, especially those related to investments - only in 2015 the members of the Polish Tyre Industry Association allocated almost 319 million zlotys for development in our country. The Polish tyre market is the leading one in Central and Eastern Europe, and one of the fastest growing across the whole continent.
"Countries such as Germany and France remain the core of the tyre industry in Europe, but the Polish market continues to grow from strength to strength. Polish companies noted only growth in 2015 - in terms of production, sales, funds for investments and employment in factories. This all shows that companies want to develop in our country, which is, in turn, increasingly important on the tyre industry's map of Europe," says Piotr Sarnecki, General Director of the Polish Tyre Industry Association.
In 2015 two key values showed increases - production and sales. Factories in Poland produced more than 36 million tyres, an 0.2 percent increase over last year. "Such production growth demonstrates the stability of our industry, creating a safety buffer, so that companies can develop. However, the situation in other countries also has an impact on our market because the majority of tyres produced in our country are allocated for export," states the General Director of the PTIA.
The increase in employment in Polish factories is also a very important indicator of the industry's development. In 2015, it rose by as much as 5.5 percent. Currently, facilities of companies forming the PTIA directly employ more than 10,000 people, among which we can distinguish highly skilled specialists considered to be among the best in the world.
Sales results are also noteworthy. In 2015 more tyres were sold than in the previous year. And so, a 1 percent rise was noted in the category of passenger car tyres and 3 percent in truck tyres. These increases confirm the stability of the market in our country. "The sales results improved on those for 2014 for two key reasons - first, more vehicles were sold and, second, awareness of the impact of tyres on road safety is growing steadily among Polish drivers," Piotr Sarnecki explains.
The tyre industry is responsible for more than 1 percent of Polish exports. Tyres "Made in Poland" can be bought on every continent.
